The story so far...
Ονομάζομαι Ελένη Μαΐτού. Γεννήθηκα και μεγάλωσα στην Αθήνα.
Η καταγωγή μου είναι από τη Νάξο, έναν τόπο που παραμένει σημείο αναφοράς και επιστροφής.
Η σχέση μου με τη φωτογραφία ξεκίνησε νωρίς, επηρεασμένη από τον πατέρα μου και την αγάπη του για την αναλογική εικόνα.
Με τα χρόνια, η φωτογραφία για εμένα εξελίχθηκε σε βασικό μέσο έκφρασης.
Τα τελευταία χρόνια επικεντρώνομαι στην καλλιτεχνική φωτογραφία γυμνού, διερευνώντας το ανθρώπινο σώμα ως φορέα συναισθήματος και παρουσίας.
Το φως, η σκιά και η κίνηση λειτουργούν ως εργαλεία για την αποκάλυψη της αισθησιακής και εσωτερικής διάστασης της μορφής.
Η έμπνευσή μου αντλεί αναφορές από την κλασική αισθητική, τη συναισθηματική ένταση και την ωμή, ανεπιτήδευτη ομορφιά της ανθρώπινης εμπειρίας.
Εκτός από την φωτογραφία αγαπώ τη γλυπτική, τη χαρακτική και τη μουσική.

My name is Eleni Maitou. Born and raised in Athens, Greece, with roots originating from Naxos,
a place i love and feels like home.
I inherited my love for analog and digital photography from my father, who was an amateur photographer.
In recent years i have dedicated myself to the artistic nude photography. I explore the human form through interplay of light, shadow and movement. I pursue sensuality that makes its exploding presence through lines and shapes and I am getting excited when the light transforms the forms.
My work draw inspiration from classical aesthetics, emotional depth and the raw beauty of everyday and introspective perspective.
Besides photography, I also love sculpture, engraving and i identify myself as a music addict.

Group Exhibition ‘’Distorted’’, June 27-30, 2024.
The group exhibition “Distorted,” curated by Mummy Maskara at Domatio Art Space
( 55 Solomou, Athens), explored visual and auditory illusions through 82 independent artworks including paintings, sculptures, photography, digital art, collages,video art,and performances.This surreal two-room setting immerses visitors in a darkly enchanting fairy tale, challenging perceptions of reality.
Exhibition ”Common (?) People” May 16th–June 16th 2024 at Della Rounick Gallery, Athens.
A collaboration with sculptress, Ismini Tsofidou.
Where photography meets Sculpture.
The exhibition explored the complexities of a human existence through the lens of the human body and aimed to challenge stereotypes and social norms.
